In Lorient, Thalos, expert in connectivity at sea, is preparing for the boom of connected boats

Because onboard connectivity is undergoing a metamorphosis, driven by the rise of the internet of things, the SME in the Morbihan, Thalos, decided to collaborate on connected boats

The boats of Tomorrow will be connected. The maritime world is in the midst of a digital transformation and whether it is for effective use of data, energy optimization, navigation safety or in the long term the autonomous boat, the first mandatory step remains the 100% connected boat.

An SME that has the wind in its sails

For 20 years, Thalos has been designing and deploying solutions for sailors in their multiple environments. Located since June 2020 on brand new premises in Ploemeur in Morbihan, Thalos (45 employees) specializes in communication tools and solutions at sea. Three dedicated technical and commercial teams are present on 3 Oceans through 3 subsidiaries: THALOS, ERISAT and OCEAN-SAT.

Better fleet management

Today, a sailor no longer puts up with being cut off from his own at sea, he also uses and above all digital tools related to his profession (software, applications, internet) such as the weather, fishing assistance tools, access to email, communication with the armament... Thalos has developed the OceanBox which allows sailors to avoid going through expensive internet packages. The box is the data input and output hub.
