Covid 19: residential hotels could be the ideal solution to spend summer 2020 safely

With their concept based on guest autonomy and freedom, residential hotels are an economical alternative to hotels and a solution for a safe family holiday.

Uncertainties about leaving the country

With the lockdown linked to the coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic extended until May 11, 2020, many French people are wondering where they might spend their summer holidays. As government recommendations encourage caution about leaving the country, 9 French out of 10 plan to stay in France for their holidays. If airlines have proposed postponements and assets during the health emergency period, no one knows what traffic and air travel conditions will be afterwards. One civic initiative is to revive tourism in France, those professionals being greatly impacted by this health crisis.

Why not a residential hotel for the holidays?

Residential hotels represent a quarter of the tourist accommodation offering in France. With its varied possibilities (seaside, countryside, urban, mountains), the concept attracts 19 million customers per year and represents 38,000 direct and indirect jobs. Combining the comfort of an apartment with the services of a hotel, the residential hotel allows you to have a furnished apartment with comfort for short, medium or long stays. You will feel right at home and the apartments can accommodate large families.

A taste of freedom

More flexible than the hotel, you have a great deal of freedom. From your arrival until your departure, you manage your apartment completely autonomously. No entry or exit schedule, you can enjoy your living space 24/7 and no one has access to it, except for weekly cleaning sessions. Each space includes an equipped kitchen in which you can eat whenever it suits your lifestyle. You can welcome friends or family and have your personal apartment but also common areas for socializing. Unlike other options, animals are generally allowed.

Staying safe

By design, these residences includes a minimum staff. You usually access your apartment with a code system sent by email or SMS after booking and online payment. You are the only one who has access to your apartment in which no one will enter, except for the weekly (or other frequency) cleaning to which you have subscribed. Summer 2020 will necessarily be about health precautions. The concept of these residences lends itself particularly well to social distancing.

The Smartappart housing solution

Its furnished and connected apartments offer a wide selection (studios, one-bedrooms or lofts) and the family apartments can accommodate up to 4 people. Their equipped kitchens will allow you to make snacks and meals at home and enjoy substantial savings. In addition, rates are discounted starting from two nights.
