From May 8 to July 26, 2024, the opening day of the Paris 2024 Olympics, the Olympic flame will travel throughout France. The cities of Caen, Le Havre, Niort and Troyes are in the race!

The first torch of the Paris 2024 Olympic Torch Relay will be lit on April 16, 2024 in the sanctuary of Olympia in Greece. After a Mediterranean crossing aboard the mythical three-masted Belem, the flame will disembark on May 8 in Marseille. It will then be able to start its journey to the 65 waypoint cities and cross 100 emblematic sites before arriving in Paris to light the flame of the Trocadero, the culmination of the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Caen lights the way /May 30

Normandy will light its own fire with two major events. Only a few days away from the celebrations of the 80ththanniversary of the Normandy Landings, the flame will land in the city of Caen on May 30th. One hundred relay workers will be mobilized to shine brightly in Calvados: Omaha Beach, Lisieux, Cabourg / Dives / Houlgate, Honfleur, Bayeux, Falaise and finally Caen which will mark the highlight of its visit to Calvados.
The day will be punctuated by activities and festivities: parade in the streets, cultural, sports and civic events free and open to all on the Jean-Marie Louvel esplanade in front of the City Hall.

Niort is burning brightly in the Deux-Sèvres / June 2

The Olympic torch relay will cross the Deux-Sèvres, from north to south, for a festive day (between 30 minutes and 1:30 in 7 municipalities) and will find its climax in Niort on Sunday, June 2, 2024. This is the second time that the City of Niort has hosted the flame after a first for the Alberville Winter Games in 1992!

Le Havre, the grand finale in Seine-Maritime / July 5th

The city of Le Havre hosts the final waypoint in the department of Seine-Maritime. The 4 km (2.5 mi) relay will highlight a variety of places which symbolize how sport is anchored in this ocean city: City Hall, rue de Paris, Nelson Mandela esplanade but also le Volcan, Saint-Joseph church, Avenue Foch, the Ocean gate or the beach esplanade.

Troyes, last stop before Paris / July 13

Seven cities in the Aube department will be crossed: Dolancourt, Evry-le-Châtel, mesnil-Saint-père, Nogent-sur-Seine, Romilly-sur-Seine, Ville-sous-la-ferté and finally Troyes.
