Bye bye Paris, hello province! Those seeking change are ever more numerous. The Le Point Special Issue publishes its ranking based on data collected by France attractive.

Economic vitality, mobility / connectivity and quality of life are the main themes of those seeking to make a change. And there are some surprises in store. In urban areas of more than 250,000 inhabitants, Strasbourg, Bordeaux and Nantes have the lion's share. If Bordeaux (No. 2) and Montpellier (No. 7) remain attractive, they are victims of their own success and soaring real estate prices. Strasbourg (No. 1) benefits from the TGV high-speed train line, major investments in connectivity, a good tourist attractiveness and a preserved quality of life.

For smaller cities, La Rochelle climbs to the top of the podium followed closely by Saint-Nazaire (No. 2) and Bayonne- Anglet-Biarritz (No. 3). Cherbourg is in 15th place, between Besançon and Poitiers, Caen is in 19th position, between Valence and Fréjus, Lorient in 28th place, between Nîmes and Agen. Excellent news for Saint-Nazaire: the port city is on the rise!

Art of living, accessibility and economic vitality. Saint-Nazaire fulfills all the criteria of a city where life is good. The city-port has all the green lights with 1/3 of its area dedicated to natural spaces and 1000 hectares of wetlands bordering the marsh of Briere. A stone's throw from the city center, beaches, cliffs and coastal paths line the seafront and promise some seaside walks. With its former submarine base integrated into the city and its flagship Escal 'Atlantic , the city is also a leader in renewable energies: the Eol center, open since 9 February, is the first tourist site dedicated to offshore wind energy.

Saint-Nazaire offers both tradition and modernity, such as remarkable sites featuring megalithic tombs and LIFE or VIP cultural sites, with their daring musical and artistic programming. Its musical festival Les Escales will have a full house from July 26 to 27 with its stunning program. It deserves to be on the podium of the most attractive cities in France.
